My Meditation Story Through my life coaching practice I have realized that the quickest way to make a change in your life is to quiet your mind and become one with yourself.
Many years ago I attended my first spa show in Las Vegas; it was there I found my ideal of beauty. Out of the hundreds of booths selling the latest creams and equipment I encountered two women that had the radiance I was searching for. As luck would have it, both of them practiced the same methods of skincare and I was lucky to spend the next several years studying Ayurvedic spa care procedures with one of these women Melanie Sachs and her husband Robert. At the start of each class with the Sachs' we would do some form of meditation. I have to say it was quite foreign and strange to me at first but over time I began to practice several forms of meditation. Over the years I began to notice that certain radiance in other people and before long I realized that the common thread amongst all of these people was they had a regular meditation practice. Finding new and not so strange meditation techniques has become a passion. My own life began to change when I got serious about my meditation practice. I noticed I became less reactive in conflict situations and remained calm in crisis's. I also noticed an improvement in my physical health and generally felt less stressed. Today I look forward to the time spent in meditation as the joy of my day not some chore.
Meditation Technique
My goal has been to take the mystery and myth out a meditation. You don't really learn meditation as this quiet connection with yourself is your natural state, you instead unlearn the habits that keep you from achieving this natural state of peace.
My meditation instruction shows you several different styles of meditation along with exercises that will prepare you for a successful meditation practice. These forms of meditation are non-denominational and can be used by anyone. Best of all is there no sitting on the floor in contorted positions. (unless you want to) You can sit comfortable in a chair or even recline on the couch. In as little as 5 minutes a day you can make big changes in the quality of your mental and physical states that last a lifetime.
This spring I had the honor to complete the 9 day meditation teacher training program at the Ananda Village in Nevada City, Calif. This intensive program is one of the oldest and most respected meditation teacher training programs in the United States. This in depth program along with my over 25 years of experience in sharing my knowledge with others makes me the prefect choice for you to guide you through this experience. You can learn these techniques either in one of my classes or in a private one on one session.
